About

Welcome! My name is Isabel Lozano. I’m the founder and director of A Heart for Seniors. I am profoundly familiar on both a personal and professional level with the immense and sometimes complicated emotional, physical and logistical needs that Senior Care can mean.

I have been a mother/daughter caregiver for nearly 20 years. I provided care at home for 7 years for my beloved son Daniel, a special needs child with Cerebral Palsy who had a tracheotomy and gastric feeding tube, was on continuous oxygen, bedridden and wheelchair bound, and needed extensive medication management. Daniel lived to almost 11. When he was 7, his neurologist said:

“Isabel, Daniel is not supposed to be here anymore (he had been given a prognosis of just 3 years), but he is doing well because of the care you are giving him.”

One day, my mom called from Solon, Ohio and asked if I would pick her up at LAX. From that point on, my mother Esthenit stayed under my care for the rest of her 9-year Alzheimer’s journey. I cared for both my mother and son at home, had private caregivers and nurses, and eventually had to find a care facility for their specialized needs.

This journey brought me to work for various Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly and grow my passion for helping hundreds of families find care solutions. I now help San Diego’s families find the best care solutions for their loved ones and dedicate myself to being their one-stop resource center as they embark on their own care journeys.
